Geography Delaware Lesson 1
Today, Miss. Julia and I had the opportunity to teach out third-grade students about Delaware. To start this lesson we introduced ourselves and did a "would you rather" icebreaker. We then had the students create classroom rules we all agreed on and sign them. Once the classroom rules were created we told them we could always add if they thought of anything else, and we left them out as a reminder. After introductions and rules, we gave the students a pre-assessment quiz to see what they already knew about Delaware. We told them this was just a small quiz to help Miss. Julia and I see what we could teach more about. After they finished the quiz we then went over our vocabulary list and asked them each to share one word from the list. Once we finished reading the vocabulary words, we hung the list on the wall so the students could look back and refer to it when writing in their journals.
