Paragraph Shrinking Lesson 6
During today's lesson, the students engaged with the book " The Snowy Owl Scientist" by: Mark Wilson . The students got to learn about Snowy Owls and how they survive. Miss Julia and I read the book aloud to them and had each of them take notes on a piece of paper on things they felt where important to remember. We provided two anchor charts for them during this lesson. One anchor chart was about vocabulary words that they would see throughout the book, and the other was a paragraph shrinking example chart that we filled out together. Both of these anchor charts were utilized by students when working on their own allowing them to work independently and quietly. The students then practiced their own paragraph shrinking and explain what they did and what paragraph they chose from a certain page we looked at.
